Bio
Carrie Lee Riggins was born in Carmel, New York. She began her ballet training at the age of 8 at the School of American Ballet. The following year she was Marie in "The Nutcracker" with New York City Ballet.
While training at the School she performed numerous ballets with the company and even appeared in the film version of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker as a Candy Cane.
In the fall of 1996, she was invited to become an apprentice and nine months later received her corps de ballet contract.
Carrie Lee has been honored to dance many principal and soloist roles with New York City Ballet.

She originated a leading role in Melissa Barak's Telemann Overture, Elliot Feld's Organon, Kevin O'Day's Swerve Poems and Twyla Tharp's Beethoven's Seventh.
In 2002, Ms. Riggins appeared in the nationally televised Live from Lincoln Center broadcast "New York City Ballet's Diamond Project: Ten Years of New Choreography" on PBS. She performed Viola Alone by Kevin O'Day.
Carrie Lee Riggins chaired the yearly fundraiser "Dance with the Dancers" in 2005. The theme was an Evening in Cannes and it was covered in the New York Times praising it's success.
She has had experience working in commericals, music videos, movies and television. These credits include:

Carrie Lee studied with Stanley Williams, Helene Dudin, Carol Sumner, Richard Rapp and Antonia Tumkovsky. Whenever she has the opportunity to guest teach she enjoys sharing the knowledge from the stage in combination with the influence of her own teachers. Most resently she has been teaching at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Webster, Texas. The ages range from 7 to advanced. Carrie Lee's wide roladex of variations and choreography make for a wonderful variations class filled with variety.
Carrie Lee is currently on her second invitation to dance with Morphoses. Working with Christopher Wheeldon again has been a dream for her. Stayed tuned for more news and updates from the tour..........
